one small candle
it's the only thing
keeping me company
at this moonless night
i kept starring at the flickering flame
until it slowly faded away
with last narrowing
fading whip of a smoke
candle burned out
long before it’s service
was truly fulfilled
it's purpose
long before the true meaning
was revealed
now i'm left in the dark
alone
with my lonesome thoughts
can't shake
the past away
for this lonely present
i can't see the future due
that's all around me
the one that surrounds me
night and through day
until the time
the year and day
from which I start to fade away
white bright grows to grey
gravel and dirt
black and darkness
twirl and curl
back to loins
back to twisting roots
